Our name reflects our philosophy, which is to provide home services to seniors in greater Northeast Philadelphia, helping them remain in their homes while maintaining their dignity and quality of life.

Some of Bridge to Care's Services:

  • 24-hour voice monitoring response system
  • Monthly health assessment performed by a nurse in the home to evaluate health needs relative to the home environment

Meals on Wheels

Northeast Meals on Wheels at The Philadelphia Protestant Home (NEMOW) has been serving our community for more than 25 years by preparing and delivering nutritious home-cooked meals five days a week to homebound seniors, helping them to remain independent and in their homes for as long as possible.

Volunteer Program

Volunteers have served The Philadelphia Protestant Home faithfully since it was founded. Our volunteers come from all walks of life, from teens to neighbors to PPh residents. Opportunities for volunteering abound.

The Women's Auxiliary of The Philadelphia Protestant Home

The Philadelphia Protestant Home, Philadelphia, PA, (215) 697-8000

Since PPh was founded, the Women's Auxiliary of the Philadelphia Protestant Home has worked to benefit the residents. Members are involved in fundraising, social activities, and direct resident service programs.

Over the years, the Auxiliary has contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to fund benevolent care of PPh residents, the purchase of resident amenities, the funding of support services and programs, and the expansion of social opportunities while serving as an integral component of every day "Home" life.

Members of the Women's Auxiliary provide service by:

  • Raising funds to benefit PPh through quarterly indoor flea markets, bazaars, and dinners.
  • Personal visits to residents.
  • Hosting a resident Christmas party.
  • Packing and delivering holiday gifts to residents in December.

Fitness and Aquatics Center

The Philadelphia Protestant Home, Philadelphia, PA, (215) 697-8000

We offer adults 55 and over a safe, comfortable environment to get fit and stay healthy. Our fitness center boasts state-of-the-art equipment by Magnum, Precor, and NuStep. The aquatic center includes a heated, half-Olympic sized, handicapped accessible pool and men and women's locker rooms. Our goal is to motivate participants through programs that will increase mobility, flexibility, muscle strength and endurance, and educate them to improve their quality of life through exercise and balanced nutrition.

The Philadelphia Protestant Home is a participating SilverSneakers® Fitness Program Club. The program offers a unique blend of physical activity, healthy lifestyle and socially-oriented programming that enables older adults to take greater control of their health.
