PPh INTRODUCES THE “SCRIP” GIFT CARD PROGRAM

Scrip is a term that means “substitute money.”  When you purchase scrip from PPh, you’re purchasing gift cards issued by the national and local retailers where you already shop.  Our PPh family members can use scrip to purchase food, clothing and other everyday essentials.  With each gift card used, you earn revenue for PPh and yourself!

PPh will stock scrip cards to our local markets-Acme, ShopRite and Wawa.  Additionally, you can order scrip from a list of over 300 other retailers and restaurants.  Each store passes on a different percentage discount to us.  PPh will then pass on 50% of our discount to you!  For example, if you purchase $100 worth of scrip for the Acme, PPh will receive 4% or $4.00 – PPh will pass on a savings of 2% to you (or $2.00).  Your reward dollars accumulate, and payouts will occur quarterly (at the end of April, July, October and January).  The Fund Development Office will maintain a record of your rewards.

Our residents may use their rewards toward their rent, additional scrip ($25.00 minimum) or for payment to a non-profit (if you have children/grandchildren in a private school, your rewards can help towards tuition).  Staff and family may use their rewards to use toward additional scrip ($25.00 minimum) or for payment to a non-profit. 

The reason for the effectiveness of scrip is simple: you produce revenue by making purchases you would make anyway.  Our PPh family easily spends between one and two million dollars per year on food, clothing and other essentials.  If these families and individuals use scrip for these purchases, we can raise as much as $20,000 to $40,000 per year for PPh – without spending an additional penny!
