PLANNED AND DEFERRED GIFTS

Bequests | Charibable Annuities | Life Insurance

The Heritage Society of The Philadelphia Protestant Home
The Heritage Society was established in 1992. The name reflects our appreciation and admiration for those who had the vision to launch PPh. And it is this ongoing vision for the future that marks those who belong to The Heritage Society today.

Membership in the Society recognizes individuals who have made a deferred gift, such as a charitable gift annuity, a bequest through their will, life insurance or other gift which is made by a donor during his or her life and received by the Home after the donor’s death.

Members of The Heritage Society are truly exceptional. Their commitment is helping shape the future of services for residents of The Philadelphia Protestant Home.

If you have already included The Philadelphia Protestant Home in your will or other planned gift, we hope you will let us know so that we can recognize you during your lifetime. Each new member is presented with a certificate of appreciation, a Heritage Society pin and a recognition gift at a luncheon for our members held in October of each year.

Bequests

You may be saying, “I wish I could do more.” Gifts through your will can be of a particular item, dollar amount or a percentage of your estate are just an example of how to carry out your wish. The federal estate tax can take approximately 40% to 50% of one’s estate at the time of death.

To include PPh in your will, the following is sample bequest language:
“I give, devise, and bequeath $_______ (sum of money), or ______% (percentage) of my estate, or all the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to The Philadelphia Protestant Home, located at 6500 Tabor Road, Philadelphia, PA.

Charitable Gift Annuities

Income for Life for You… Benefit for the Future of PPh!

Our charitable gift annuity program was created as a service to our many friends who have expressed a desire to make a gift of significance, while still retaining income from the gift property during their lives.

A charitable gift annuity is a contract in which you exchange a gift of cash or securities for a guaranteed, fixed income each year for the rest of your life! It is truly a win-win situation for you and The Philadelphia Protestant Home.

Gift annuity rates are determined by the age of the person or persons who receive the income payments. The current rate for a person 80 years of age is 8.0%, 83 years of age is 8.8% and 87 years of age is 10.2%.

For a personalized illustration of what a gift annuity might do for you, call our Development Office at 215-697-8568 or e-mail at dnawn@pphfamily.org.

Life Insurance: The Forgotten Gift?

Do you have a life insurance policy you no longer need? Perhaps your other assets have grown to provide the protection you require, and the insurance policy lies forgotten in a safety deposit box. Did you know that the policy could make a wonderful charitable gift to The Philadelphia Protestant Home?

If you have insurance you may like to contribute, or if you are currently paying premiums on a policy and want to discover how this policy might work as a gift,

You can name The Philadelphia Protestant Home the beneficiary of your life insurance, or a co-beneficiary. Oftentimes, these are old policies that you find you no longer need.

For more information, call our Fund Development Office at 215-697-8568 or e-mail Diane Nawn.
