Environmental Services

PPh Group, a specialized division of the Philadelphia Protestant Home, is dedicated to providing innovative management and consulting solutions to the health care industry. Quality care and services for aging individuals within a community is the Protestant Home’s heritage. PPh Group mirrors this image in its business practices while also supporting organizations in acute care and other health care settings.
PPh Group offers an array of supportive services in a variety of business lines.

There are many factors that impact an organization’s ability to provide affordable yet important and necessary services for residents within a community. Cuts to reimbursement, a growing senior population with increasing expectations and family dynamics that can create customer relations issues, all point to a critical need. How does an organization contain or reduce costs while enhancing and expanding services?

Our Environmental Services Team is poised to work with you. Their level of experience and working knowledge is an essential foundation to our organization. They work or have worked in the same trenches as you do. Their approach would be to work side-by-side with your team in gaining a clear understanding of your objectives. Peer-to-Peer they will work together in developing customized programs and services to meet the exact needs that you have outlined. If budgeting or expense reduction is an area of focus, they will help you design a system of checks and balances that leads to improved fiscal management. Vendor reviews and product analysis can be conducted to help you get the expense line items within budget.

This area of support covers every aspect of the physical plant, grounds, security, fixtures, furniture and related systems management. A critical responsibility of this department is to maintain and enhance the environment. This goes beyond cleaning and repairing equipment. The complete comfort with the living spaces and the feeling of a beautiful ambience is in this group’s hands. They contribute in many ways to the overall morale of staff and create a welcome environment for resident, patients, family members and guests. At PPh we spent the last seven years focusing on this approach and have designed our infrastructure to maintain all levels of the environment. We can help you raise your level of comfort and ambiance to new highs.

Over the years we have developed numerous unique relationships with our vendors. You would have access to those same vendors, their service and support and pricing. We can directly make an impact to your bottom line. Our support, linked with your strengths, would allow you to achieve goals while maintaining standards at their highest possible level.

PPh Group is sincere in its desire to form partnerships with peer organizations while becoming part of your continued growth and success.

Housekeeping and Laundry

Systems, training and staff development are the core to any successful program. Our team can conduct an assessment of your existing program and compare that to recognized industry standards. Efficiency studies along with measuring the effectiveness of staff’s work will be measured. Based on specific benchmarks we can assist in developing a plan that will focus management’s energy on maximizing performance and results. These are direct customer service areas which impact residents, patients and guests alike. Ensuring that they have the right technical and people skills is critically important. We have programs designed to strengthen those skill sets.

Plant Operations and Maintenance

Starting with day-to-day oversight through an extensive preventative maintenance program, this team is poised to assist you in maximizing your staff’s effectiveness. Without a sound physical plant and equipment operating at a safe and 100% level, employees cannot perform at their best. This team of professionals works in a collaborative fashion with departments in managing the maintenance process through the use of palm pilots for their work order system. All of their functions are centrally controlled and tracked for maximum efficiency. We can work side-by-side with your technicians and management in implementing systems that would benefit your complete facility.

Safety and Security

The heartbeat of any facility is how safe and secure people feel within the work environment. This area, often times overlooked, can make or break the success of an organization. This team has never accepted the premise that “it could never happen to us.” Our approach is to plan for the best and worst case scenario simultaneously. A systems analysis of your current program would include, but not be limited to, equipment inspections, rounds, video surveillance, key control, checklists, fire safety, alarms and other warning devices. Spending time interviewing staff, residents, patients and guests is another important component. The perception of how safe and secure people feel is as important as the actual success of the program. If you request we can then work with you in establishing objectives designed to meet all required guidelines and regulations.
